SUBARU MODELS WE SERVICE
From a high-mileage Outback to a new Ascent, these are the Subarus we work on every week. Don't see yours? Call and ask.
Why Your Subaru Needs a Specialist
Subarus are built around a flat boxer engine and full-time all-wheel drive, and both need Subaru know-how. A basic code reader can show a fault. It can't run Subaru's own tests.

Common Subaru Problems We Fix
Here are the Subaru problems we see most often, what you'll notice first, and what we do about each one.

Head Gaskets and Oil Burning
Head gasket leaks. Oil or coolant seeping from the engine, a burning smell, or an engine that starts to run hot, common on 1999 to 2011 Impreza, Forester, Legacy and Outback models, usually between 120,000 and 150,000 miles. A small leak left alone can lead to overheating. We find the leak and replace the head gaskets when they need it.
Burning oil. The oil level drops between changes on 2011 to 2014 Forester, 2013 Legacy and Outback, and 2012 to 2013 Impreza and Crosstrek models. We measure how much oil it uses and check for leaks before anything is replaced.

Transmission Problems
Shudder or hesitation. A shudder from a stop, a delay when you press the gas, or the engine revving without the car speeding up, on 2010 to 2015 Legacy, Outback, Impreza, Crosstrek, Forester and WRX models. Subaru covered some of these repairs for longer, so we'll help you check. We diagnose the transmission and tell you what it needs.
Transmission service on newer Subarus. On 2016 to 2018 Outback, Legacy, Impreza, Crosstrek, Forester and WRX models, the fluid and the transmission's computer are the first things we check when shifting feels off. We service or repair the transmission based on what the test shows.

Batteries and All-Wheel Drive
Dead battery after sitting. The car won't start after sitting a day or two, or the battery dies again soon after a jump, common on 2015 to 2020 Outback, Legacy, Forester and WRX and 2019 to 2020 Ascent models. Some electronics keep running after the car is off. We test the battery, charging system and drain, then fix the electrical problem.
Mismatched tires. Replacing only one or two tires on a Subaru can leave them different sizes. Subaru's all-wheel drive needs all four tires close to the same size, or it wears itself out early. We measure all four tires and tell you whether they need to match.
