BMW MODELS WE SERVICE
From a high-mileage 328i to a late-model X5, these are the BMWs we work on every week. Don't see yours? Call and ask.
Why Your BMW Needs a Specialist
BMWs are built to tight specs, and many repairs need BMW's own software to finish the job. A basic code reader can show a fault. It can't set up a new battery or reset your service schedule.

Common BMW Problems We Fix
Here are the BMW problems we see most often, what you'll notice first, and what we do about each one.

Oil Leaks: Filter Housing and Valve Cover
Oil leaking near the belt. A burning oil smell or oil on the front of the engine, common on six-cylinder BMWs from about 2006 to 2018. The leak sits right above the drive belt. If oil makes the belt slip off, it can get pulled into the engine and turn a small gasket job into a big repair. We fix the leak before it gets that far.
Oil on top of the engine. Oil seeping around the top of the engine, or a burning smell after a drive. It's one of the most common leaks on BMWs from 2006 on. We replace the gasket and check the plastic engine cover itself, which can crack or warp with age.

Cooling System and Timing Chains
Weak heat or a coolant warning. Weak heat at idle, a coolant light, or the car cutting power to protect the engine, usually between 60,000 and 100,000 miles. BMW water pumps and thermostats wear out around then. We replace the pump and thermostat together, then refill the coolant and get the air out the way BMW calls for.
Whine or rattle at startup. A whine or rattle from the front of the engine, often worst right after you start it. On 2012 to 2015 four-cylinder models like the 328i, 528i and X3, a worn plastic guide can let the timing chain slip, which can ruin the engine. We check the chain and replace the chain parts if they're worn.

Fuel Pumps and V8 Oil Burning
Long cranking or sudden power loss. The engine cranks longer than normal before it starts, stalls, or suddenly loses power. On 2007 to 2013 turbo six-cylinder models like the 335i and 535i, the high-pressure fuel pump is a common cause. We test the fuel pressure before replacing anything.
Adding oil to the V8. You're adding oil between changes, see blue smoke at startup, or the engine runs rough. This is common on the twin-turbo V8 in roughly 2008 to 2014 550i, 750i and X5 models. We track how much oil it uses, check the timing chains and seals, and change the oil more often to protect the engine.
