AUDI MODELS WE SERVICE

From a high-mileage A4 to a late-model Q7, these are the Audis we work on every week. Don't see yours? Call and ask.

Why Your Audi Needs a Specialist

Audis are built to tight specs, and many repairs need Audi's own software to finish the job. A basic code reader can show a fault. It can't code a new part or reset your service reminder.

WHAT WE DO

Common Audi Problems We Fix

Here are the Audi problems we see most often, what you'll notice first, and what we do about each one.

Oil Burning and Timing Chains

Burning oil. You're adding oil between oil changes, or the low oil light keeps coming on. It's most common on 2009 to 2011 A4, A5 and Q5 models with the 2.0 turbo. The fix is usually a small engine vent valve and a software update, not a new engine. We measure how much oil it uses before we recommend anything.

Rattle on a cold start. A rattle for a few seconds when you start the car first thing in the morning. On 2008 to 2013 Audis with the 2.0 turbo, the part that keeps the timing chain tight can wear out. If the chain slips, it can ruin the engine, so this one shouldn't wait. We inspect it and replace the chain parts if they're worn.

Water Pumps and Coolant Leaks

Coolant leaks. A low coolant warning, a sweet smell, or pink fluid under the car. The water pump on many 2015 and newer Audis tends to start leaking early, and running low on coolant can overheat the engine. We replace the water pump and the housing next to it, then refill with the coolant Audi calls for.

Running hot. The temperature gauge climbs on hills or hot days, or you get an overheating warning. We see it most on 2009 to 2017 Audis with the supercharged V6, like the A6, Q5 and Q7. We test the whole cooling system first, so you only pay for the parts that are actually bad.

Carbon Buildup and Rough Shifting

Carbon buildup. Hard starts on cold mornings, a shaky idle, or a car that feels weaker than it used to. On Audi turbo engines, carbon slowly builds up inside the engine where fuel can't wash it away. We open up the top of the engine and clean it out, which brings back smooth running and lost power.

Rough shifting. Clunky shifts, a shudder pulling away from a stop, or a slow start. The automatic in the A3, Q3, TT and many S models needs fresh fluid about every 40,000 miles, and that service often gets skipped. We do the fluid service on schedule and repair the transmission if fluid alone doesn't fix it.
